Dale Chihuly

Born in 1941 in Tacoma, Washington, Dale Chihuly was introduced to glass while studying interior design at the University of Washington. Instead of paying close to $30 to go up the Space Needle, we climbed the spiral staircase in this water tower in Seattle’s Volunteer Park (designed by the firm of the sons of Frederick Law Olmstead, of Central Park fame.
