Billie Zangewa

The first stop on our gallery tour yesterday was Lehman Maupin to see Billie Zangewa’s Wings of Change. These are works of a South African artist, working in silk collage, dealing with the world of Covid-19 isolation. I’ve tried to pair most of the works with a close-up, detail shot to show how these magnificent works were created.

You may be reminded of the work of Bisa Butler, a quilting artist I highlighted a few months ago in this post.

Every Day Miracle

West 24th Street, New York

Minutes ago we learned that fractionally more people disapproved of President Trump than approved of him and Joe Biden will be our next President. Here in New York the celebratory noises in the street can still be heard, bull horns, car horns, pot-banging, shouting and screaming. At first I couldn’t tell what was going on.

Anyway… Yesterday we went on a Chelsea art gallery crawl, so you have that experience to look forward to over the next week’s posts.
