The Sincerest Form of Flattery

Art Institute of Chicago

Here we see Barbara Kruger using my own technique – they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, though I doubt she’s ever seen my work.

  1. Your own technique was great. I could just picture the artist getting all huffy over an average C grade–and all that red ink!

    1. Thanks! It wasn’t the artists I was taking aim at but, I imagined, the curators or other art-crit hacks who write such high-falutin’, low-value tripe. Unfortunately for my project, but not for museum-goers, most of the placards I see these days are written in understandable English and have something useful to say about the art they appear alongside.

      1. I always thought the artists wrote up their own info–something new I learned! Yeah, the high-falutin’ stuff…..my, my. Aren’t we all fancy! I think your project would be such a riot. Next time you do an exhibit…..🤔😉
