Continuing with reflections… Sitting on the couch, reading on my iPad, I noticed in the bright sunlight what a strong reflection there was coming off the glare on the tablet (with minor enhancing in Capture One). I had just received an email invitation to a self-portrait contest, so I thought here was an opportunity. It’s not really interesting enough to submit, but blogworthy, perhaps. Quick BTS below.

Backsplash Reflection
The next morning, in bright sunlight, I noticed the reflection from the window on the kitchen backsplash (see last post).
Kitchen, Night
I was struck by the shadows and light on the cabinet doors of the kitchen, so I got the tripod and took a few shots at different distances. This one is a 26-second exposure so I’m guessing the motion blur is coming from the actual shutter press (no mirror flapping on my Fuji).
Afterwards
Four of my classmates and I had just completed our final presentations for Exploratory Practice and adjourned to the Graphics Studio to unwind. The afternoon sun was streaming brightly through the western windows and Luna kindly allowed me to shoot a few quick snapshots of her in the golden light.
More Frosted Leaves
These might even qualify for the “petals on a wet black bough,” if we allow the bough is an artificial surface of dark green and the petals are actually leaves.
Ghostly Gostrey
The Union Road leads past the Gostrey Meadow, where the flowers look spectral in their frosty coats.
Frosted Leaves
Fence
Last shot from our long walk last week. Another possibility for the haiku project.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!
Berries
Our walk is almost over and here’s another possibility for the Pound haiku project.
Frosty Pavement
The frost on the paved street looks black and white – only the berries let you know this is really a full color photograph.
Autumn Path
By this point we had a good idea where we were but not sure how far we had to go.
Hazy, Frosty Morning
At this point we thought we were on a public footpath but were soon in a farmer’s forecourt with dogs barking all around us. We were helpfully pointed in the right direction.
Panorama
This is an in-camera stitched panorama on the same walk as I’ve been showing for the last several posts.
Frosty Lane
By this point on the walk (started a few posts ago), we were a little lost.
Tree-lined
Calligraphy
Yet another candidate for the haiku project, with a sense of emptiness in the vertically protruding branches and a kind of calligraphy, as well as a strong sense of the changing season.
Frosty Branch
Another haiku project candidate from our frosty Farnham walk last week.
Leaves on a wet black bough?
After we passed Dora’s Green we walked some country roads and public footpaths. Here’s another candidate image for my Ezra Pound haiku project.
