I wondered that, too. The woman on the left was talking very animatedly (in Russian, I thought) while the man in the middle sat impassively throughout, as if not even listening and the woman on the right (their mother? mother in law?) similarly seemed to be a distant, uninvolved audience. But his slender face reminded me of Picasso drawings from his early, mannerist phase.
I think he has just won millions on the lottery and is refusing to tell her or her mother what bank account he has put the money in.
