Took a freezing cold Spring walk in the park. The first time in years I can remember seeing the park not jam-packed with people. Was able to take a few lovely landscapes without people in them.

  1. Back in 2014, I had the same experience in Washington D.C.
The ‘Cherry Blossom Festival’ was scheduled for March 29 through April 12 that year. However, since the winter weather had lasted into late March, by the beginning of April many of the cherry blossoms had not bloomed yet. It was still rather cold on the morning (April 6) that I walked around the Tidal Basin underneath the cherry trees. There were only a few people there, which is rare for that time of year. We were all happy that there was not a large crowd of tourists–plenty of open benches along the waterside to sit down and relax. Here and there, I was able to find a few brave cherry blossoms that had fully opened. I was able to get some nice photos and it was a refreshing walk that I will long remember!

    1. Thanks! Yes, I didn’t catch our Cherry blossoms in Central Park this year but you caught that feeling of natural beauty unsullied by human crowds.
