  1. I lived in Middlesex County, and the only time I can remember taking the turnpike was to visit my aunt and uncle who lived in Jersey City. Otherwise, the parkway was our mode of transport. This looks really pretty–not how I remember turnpike views at all.

    1. I think the Parkway is mostly much prettier and landscaped. What appeals to me about the images coming up is the way the industrial ugliness fits into the countryside. And of course, this being a blustery blue-gray Winter’s afternoon with occasional breaks of golden sunlight the contrasts are starker. The beauty is kind of post-apocalyptic… you’ll see!
