  1. Adam, I hope you weren’t behind the wheel while taking this picture. I almost lost my life on the NJ Turnpike two years ago while driving and trying to remove my coat at the same time. In the split second I took my eyes off the road, the car started drifting to the lane on my right. Overcompensating, I swerved to the left, then had to steer hard right, then left again — back and forth with the arcs growing wider and wider and the car accelerating and about to go out of control. The whole episode lasted about eight seconds and it was sheer grace that I managed to straighten out and slow down — and not crash at 70 miles/hr. Fortunately, no one was on my right or left, or close behind, or others would have been involved as well.

I don’t drink but sure felt I needed one after that. And now, I rarely drive over 65 mph.

Be careful then: we want to see more of your photos. And no image is worth such a stupid mistake.

    1. Thanks for your concern and, no, I was not driving while taking these pictures – not something I do. As a born New Yorker who came late to driving at all I am a fairly unadventurous and risk-averse driver!
