Excellent point of view and angle. I’m curious how you shot this? From the hip? Much like your “Down by Law (Courts)” image, this one is another great example of movement.
Actually I carry the camera at about chest height and when I’m shooting this wide (Sigma 19mm f2.8) I have to wait till I’m pretty close to get the shot. Because these are “grab” shots I try to control for movement by using shutter priority at 1/320th though this carries a number of risks (often there’s insufficient light so I have to go down to 1/250th; often the camera will pick an aperture too wide for the depth of field I’d really like; sometimes it’s simply not fast enough to control for both my movement and that of my subject) – a lot of these street shots are motion blurred. Sometimes that adds to the image but often it just means I haven’t captured anything useful.

And I’d like to have the time to do more like yours. I much prefer engaging with people and taking environmental portraits than just grabbing them unbeknownst (though each type has something to offer).
