Hair that Stands Out

Well now my Fuji XT-1 is in the shop. It’s been displaying a more and more frequent freezing behavior after waking it up from going to sleep or shifting to playback mode. While it appears to be on and turning controls appears to work the camera won’t focus (automatically or manually), won’t take a picture and displays an aperture of F 0. So it’s been interesting shooting with my old Nikon D300. It’s a giant heavy beast as are the lenses. OTOH, it takes pictures instantaneously when you press the shutter, even if it’s gone to sleep and the auto-focus is lightening fast. I haven’t unloaded its big Compact Flash chip yet so the next day or two will be residual XT-1 shots from my last SD card.

  1. I can imagine… I would feel that way too 🙂 I will keep my fingers crossed that it will come back to you in good health and ready for some hard work…

  2. Ooops! That Fuji sounds a lot like Windows having a blue screen day… or not getting any further than a black screen and a blinking white dot… Kind of utterly confused… :-/

I hope it can be resurrected again…

    1. Well, fortunately it’s less than 6 months old so it’s still under warranty. I still felt a little, I don’t know, fragile, sending it off in a box unsolicited and praying Fuji will receive it, fix it and return it to me.
