
These apples are sitting on a glass trivet which itself has a picture I took on it (great photo-product, btw). In addition to the usual tinkering with exposure and so forth, for the first time I added a texture to the background photo, just to play around with them in On1 Photo.

This has an Old Masters look to it, which I love, but the apples also look like they are floating!
Thanks! I think that’s caused by 2 things: first that the shot is from straight overhead and 2nd, because in masking the pattern I overlaid on the background, I created sharper edges around the apples than the eye would normally perceive. Given this sort of decorative still life is not my usual type of subject, I was rather pleased with it. It’s pretty.
