I’m not sure. It’s common to see people (especially Asians, for some reason) wearing masks like this, especially in the subway. I’m not sure if it’s for a common reason like avoiding infection or if they all have their own, different reasons.
I just wondered as there has been such a fuss in London about all the diesel fumes which contain damaging particulates. And, you certainly see bicycle despatch riders wearing masks.
Is that mask for traffic fumes or winter infections?

Yes, I really don’t know. I don’t think diesel’s so popular here except for lorries but I’m not a car person.
