Newton’s Law: A Mother’s Patience, A Daughter’s Impatience

I am perhaps projecting more than is warranted, but I see in the mother’s face the silent, long-suffering travails of motherhood, of shopping, of dragging along an unwilling child; and in the daugher’s face the pained look of one with a clear wish to be elsewhere, away from mom and quotidian chores.
