Leo Carillo State Park, Malibu, California
The beach at Leo Carillo State Park leaves many tidal pools with various creatures in them. we clambered through caves and over rocks to see them and I took lots of still life shots of what we saw.

This is a memory jogger! I remember the Jersey shore being littered with mussels–and the smell! I don’t recall ever seeing them washed up on the beach here along the Gulf Coast.
Yes, I’ve photographed a few of these on the Jersey shore too, but not all and not in such profusion.
