Jerrold Nadler, my Congressman, incongruously pitted against Carolyn Maloney in the upcoming Democratic primary. He has represented the liberal Upper West Side for years; she, the slightly less liberal Upper East Side. Redistricting has put them in the same, new district. I stopped and spoke to him about it for a while. As a lifelong, non-aligned, independent voter I am disallowed from voting in Democratic primaries in NY, a severe handicap.
