Autumn Shine
Farnham, UK
I’m not sure this quite conveys the quality of light – the leaves were glowing golden and the shopping carts shining silvery in the late afternoon sun. I stopped quickly and shot a few frames, trying to capture the brightness of the scene.
I love that nobody’s going around and getting rid of all the autumn leaves. They’re left to trudge through and crackle (until the rains have come and turned them into slippery slime).
What I like about this photo is the crunch I can hear of those shopping cart wheels going over the leaves.
