Stepping ou from the train station I tried one of those in-camera, panoramic sweep shots. Ostend is very developed. Unlike some of the slightly seedy boardwalk towns of New Jersey we saw here lots of recent, high end developments stretching for miles in every direction.

seedy boardwalk towns of New Jersey? I used to love going to the boardwalk in Jersey. Guess they have changed so very much over the years, though.

We’ll, my wife, a proud Jersey girl took umbrage at that “seedy” as well. Not the best choice of words on my part perhaps. But certainly many Jersey shore towns don’t have the degree of new, high-end development we encountered on the Ostend shoreline
