This young man made something of a show of putting his mask on top of his head and when I gestured taking his picture he readily agreed. Unfortunately he was out of range of my pre-focus and I haven’t quite mastered the location of the back-button focus on the new X-T4 yet, so I almost missed the shot.

Proof that open air restaurants are not socially distant: I’m using pre-focusing here at about f5.6 with a depth of field of about 3½ to 7 feet on a 23mm lens. As you can see in this uncropped image the focus is not that sharp because I’m closer than 3½ feet. Naturally, people eating and drinking at a restaurant don’t wear masks, so for the length of this block with 2 restaurants on it, we were forced to walk within a couple of feet of unmasked couples at every table we passed.
