More Urban Tulips

Still trying hard (and unsuccessfully) notĀ to take pictures of the beautiful tulips everywhere.

So, I lied. Another one of the tulip shots I promised myself I wouldn’t take any more of.

My wife bought some tulips and they looked lovely in the window light. Nice shallow depth-of-field, too.

The very last Spring tulips – I swear!

Every year I promise not to do any more tulips and every Spring the day comes when they smack me in the face with their beauty and I can’t help myself. Especially when they’re illuminated and glowing like a stained glass window!

My wife bought some tulips. They looked lovely, backlit.

At some point in the last 10 years or so, tulips seem to have become a New York thing each Spring. One seldom saw tulips all the years I was growing up in NY or throughout my early adulthood. But at some point in the last decade or two Spring has been heralded by a profusion of colorful tulips. They’re lovely and insist on being photographed despite my worst intentions.
Spring is such a tease this year. Here one day and gone the next. It’sĀ freezingĀ in NY again after a sunny Sunday when it hit the 50s we were in the 30s again this morning. therefore I can’t help but post the few hints we get of warmer weather to come.
