This morning’s street photo was taken on the corner of 86th Street and Third Avenue in New York, outside the Baskin-Robbins ice cream store where I worked as a teenager so this would be circa 1973. This is back when Yorkville was still a relatively sleepy German community (with lots of Irish bars) and you can see the Berlin Bar in the background. There’s lots going on in this shot.
And lots of different emotions as well. Now I want ice cream.

1973 is a bit of a theme for me this year – so it’s nice to see pics from this time and think about what the rest of the world was doing then.
