He was playing soulful jazz ballads. The audience were all one large group of French-speakers. The little boy, in the blue jacket below, also plays trumpet and, after finishing one piece, the trumpeter was explaining to the boy how to practice and told him if he practiced every day in 20 years he’d be really good. The parents were translating everything he said to the little boy who was a bit embarrassed and trying to avoid all the attention.

Adagio for Strings

These guys played a great arrangement of Barber’s Adagio for Strings. The sax was playing an interesting variation from the violin. I wasn’t sure how. Another key? – when I enquired I learned it was because of the extreme cold. 🙂
