As I passed, he mentioned what a hot day it was shaping up to be and I stopped and chatted for a few moments before asking if I could take his portrait. I tried to take one with his straw hat in the foreground but the focus was no good. He offered me a fist-bump as I took my leave and I wished him a cool day.

Morningside Park Redux
Regular readers will remark that this is my third weekend photographing this vista (with more to come). I’m finding it a hauntingly beautiful view, especially under a leaden Winter sky, but fiendishly difficult to capture its raw, subdued colors and majesty.
