The beach at Leo Carillo State Park leaves many tidal pools with various creatures in them. we clambered through caves and over rocks to see them and I took lots of still life shots of what we saw.

By lunchtime the sun had peeped out and I had occasion to pull out the Fujifilm 60mm macro lens for these shots of the sunlight passing through a glass of water onto the tablecloth.

I neglected to capture what this was or by whom, a collection of hanging lights in a forest of black threads.

Saw this giant insect, sitting on a chair in one of the shipping containers that make up Photoville. It remained, unmoving, while I switched to my macro lens ( I knew there was a reason I lug that thing around)).

Just got a new toy: Fuji’s 60mm f2.4 macro lens. It’s a nice portrait length, fast enough to provide some beautiful out-of-focus effect and is also a macro lens – my first! These are the first 2 shots I took after taking it out of the box – not too shabby (and beautiful models don’t hurt)!

We took our Josephine Herrick Project NY Brain Injury group out to the Brooklyn Promenade for a lesson on depth of field and aperture and I came away with this one.
