I started taking a workshop with the husband and wife team of Alex and Rebecca Norris West on Friday. Not quite sure where it’s going to take me by the end but what follows for the next few days are some of my images from the first day.

Last Fall I had the opportunity to teach photography to a group of students from the NY Brain Injury Association under the auspices of the Josephine Herrick Project at St Francis College in Brooklyn. Last week we celebrated the opening of a month-long exhibition of the students’ work there. Here are a picture of several of the students, some other well wishers, and my co-teacher, Linda Kessler (crouching, 4th from left).

For our last class with the Josephine Herrick Project‘s NY Brain Injury group in November we photographed a game between the St Francis Terriers and the Manhattan College women’s basketball teams. Sports photography is hard.

We asked our NY Brain Injury photography class to use a slow shutter speed to try and capture motion. While this one worked out of the camera, I goosed it a little with a motion blur graduated filter on the right side.
