Frozen Fog

You can just make out the George Washington Bridge in the foggy distance.

Last of the landscapes from last weekend’s upstate trip, a moody, out of focus, foggy roadside scene. By tomorrow we should be back to dear, dirty, New York City.

This post title particularly attracted me as someone I know recently posted a clip from Andy Griffith’s 1957 A Face in the Crowd, with chilling echoes of our current Presidential campaign season. Griffith plays a demagogue called Lonesome Rhodes.

This shot came out very grainy – I used a high shutter speed to freeze motion while we were going 70 mph which bumped the auto ISO up very high. I used a bunch of clarity, dehazing, and some sharpening which increased the noise even more so then I added some grain to build on the somewhat pointillist effect. Looks more interesting large.

We visited relatives in Ocean City and it poured. From the terrace you could still see Atlantic City a way off through the fog. Swimmers, in the foreground, ignored the storm.
