Driving South

Next we took a combination of A3x roads towards our destination of Lyme Regis and I managed a few snaps out the window as we went (I wasn’t the one driving). As we grew closer to Lyme Regis we passed through thick fog, or maybe a cloud.

Rydal Mount to Grasmere

We continued walking the trails from Rydal Mount, some of it in a steady light rain, down to our next stop, Grasmere (not the one in Staten Island!). Dove Cottage, where Wordsworth lived earlier in his life is a major attraction here. By the time we arrived apps told us we’d walked 10 miles. This proved to be the case almost every day of this vacation to the point that I actually lost a few pounds!

Fog

Sea Isle City, New Jersey

Still in the archives from 2001-02, here’s another foggy landscape looking South down the beach. there was a lot of color noise in this old 2MP jpeg that I took a stab at cleaning up.

Turnpike

New Jersey Turnpike

Fair warning: I find these views on the turnpike fascinating. They draw me with the beauty of their industrial ugliness, the strict geometry of the Manhattan skyline and the pylons and other industrial artifacts. So expect to see several more over the next few posts…
