Wey Ripples
Once again, a walk along the River Wey in the North Downs Way yields startlingly beautiful reflections.
Wey Fronds
Fronds grow in the River Wey and are stroked by the current. It’s always a lovely sight and one I have never really succeeded in capturing.
More Wey Reflections
We took another walk along the North Downs Way, headed towards Waverley Abbey. And again, I was struck by the magical beauty of the overgrowth reflected in the River Wey.
Reflection
We walked along the River Wey Navigation which paralleled the actual River Wey for some distance. Click either of the pictures below to see them enlarged.
A few weeks ago we took the train to Guildford and then walked the Riverside Nature Reserve along the River Wey Navigation. (click any of the pictures below to see them full size.)
Dragon’s Teeth
The concrete Dragon’s Teeth were placed here in WWII as an anti-tank defense.
North Downs Way
Went for a walk on the North Downs Way a week or so ago. It seems there has been a lot of trimming back and brush clearing. I tried to capture the contrast of the branches and their reflections in the River Wey, not altogether successfully and converted to black & white.
River Wey
Took a short walk on an errand to a colleague’s flat through the Gostrey Meadow and happened on this pretty scene.
Waverley Lane
Just before we got to Waverley Abbey with our US guests I saw this view of the River Wey. Gorgeous!
Moor Park Reflections
We took a longish walk with our US guests, through the Moor Park along the River Wey. Again the reflections of the foliage in the river got my attention.
Wading in the Wey
Cooling off was just part of the fun at last weekend’s carnival in the Gostrey Meadow.
