In the strong wind, the gulls hung in place above us, their wind beneath their wings holding them up but not moving them forward.

While at Point Loma we observed a pair of ravens hectoring a hawk.





With the airport right in the city, there are places where the planes come in very close overhead.

I’ve probably posted pictures of this new wing of the American Museum of Natural History before. It actually opened while I was living abroad and I haven’t been in yet. Is it just me, or does every new museum building have a requirement to emulate Frank Gehry’s Bilbao swoopy, rounded look?
