
And, dig this: I’m in the process of cleaning up my Capture One catalog and came upon this image I don’t remember shooting a little over 15 years ago:

And one more set of images from Savannah that got overlooked…
… and is that Venus?
Remarkable, at least to me, this was shot hand-held at 1/320th of a second (I’d forgotten I had been shooting in shutter priority mode earlier) at f2 and ISO 12,800. Of course, the image does lend itself to quite a bit of noise reduction.
My attempt to photograph the lunar eclipse a couple of weeks ago was thwarted by a few factors: I accidentally left my long lens at home; I didn’t use a cable or remote release and the moon spent most of the time hidden behind thick cloud. All the same I got a couple of halfway attractive night images.
