Our final day as a group (26th May) and we ate dinner together at the Blue Bar down by the shore in Porthtowan.
We left Paris on the EuroStar at a dusky late afternoon.
A little over 12 years ago, on a wintery February day, I last took the EuroStar to Paris. Some may remember landscapes I posted from that trip, where I deliberately kept the shutter speed slower to bring some motion blur into the images, yielding a soft, impressionistic effect. This time, the EuroStar pictures were taken on the English side under a vibrant sunset hour. Click any image to see them all full-sized.
There’s a communal terrace on my block of flats (apartment building) and noticing a beautiful sunset out the window one evening I headed there to capture the sight. The top image was created using in-camera panoramic stitching.
Back in the Financial District office after a 2 year absence…
I was on a Zoom call for work when I saw this out the window. Someone was blathering on and I figured I could run and get my camera bag before I’d be called on to respond. Made it. Phew…!

The house actually was a light coral pink but bathed in golden-orange sunset light it was hard to tell if maybe it wasn’t just white.
Sky in the East, reflecting the sunset in the West…
