As we continued our dusk drive back to Palm Springs from Black Rock Canyon we passed by windmills again, bluish and haunting in the cool evening light.

Driving back to Palm Springs from Black Rock Canyon we caught a lovely sunset. I caught these images through the car window on the drive (I wasn’t at the wheel). Click any image to see them all bigger.
Leaving Joshua Tree
After Cap Rock we piled back into the car and you can see the near foreground motion blur in the first photo again. On the way back to Palm Springs we passed through a wind farm with snowy mountain backgrounds.

Eventually we emerged from the car and took the brief 0.3 mile walk around Cap Rock as the sun began to go down and the fog rolled in and out. Gorgeous.

Approaching Cap Rock

Approaching the short Cap Rock trail in Joshua Tree National Park by car, I continued to shoot at 1/250th of a second yielding the same motion blurred foreground and sharp background. Processed using Fujifilm’s Velvia vivid landscape film profile on a cloudy day just before the late afternoon sun headed down.
