All around the Eiffel Tower, the Trocadero, the Champ de Mars, and elsewhere too, no doubt, merchants offer statuettes of the famous tower in different sizes and colors, some with twinkling lights.
Some scaffolds on the Trocadero steps. Love locks seem to be popular – souvenir hawkers have them at the ready.

Came upon this interesting, fabric-textured ceramic, so I took a shot of it; then pulled back for some context so one could see the wall of the bridge support it was on, then pulled back even more so one can see where that bridge is. I couldn’t find any information on what it was, who its creator was or anything. Beautiful. Click any of the images to see them all enlarged to full size.
Paris Photo was held this year at the Grand Palais Ephémère, a massive marquee erected on the Champ de Mars, at the other end of which stands the Eiffel Tower. We therefore stayed in a hotel nearby and found ourselves confronted at frequent points in our walks, by sights of the iconic structure which it is impossible not to photograph. So let’s try and get that out of the way at once! (Click any image to see them all full-sized.)
