Postmodern decomposition

St Cuthbert’s Cave, Northumberland

When monks first abandoned Lindisfarne, carrying the corpse of St Cuthbert, this cave was, according to legend at least, the first resting place of his miraculously un-decomposed cadaver. The people you can see in this shot were virtually the first we ran into on our walk.

Christo Installation?

I wasn’t sure what these were exactly. At first I thought they were to protect newly-planted saplings but they really look more like stakes than saplings. either way, they reminded me of some of Christo’s work, wrapping in unexpected ways and places.
