There’s an art installation at Madison Green now, with all the works encased in clear domes (Paula Hayes, Gazing Globes), like the one where Superman kept the tiny, shrunken city from his home planet Krypton in his northerly Fortress of Solitude. I framed it so the Empire State Building lighting up the night sky would pierce the dome.
Gynophobic comment? Scaffolding around the construction site in front of the Art Students League has wooden panels on it with paintings on them. This is a black and white painting and I can’t tell if the “hostile” graffito is part of the artist’s conception or has been added by another – and what is hostile about this person’s backside?

A cry for our times…
A strange effect with the Sigma 19mm f2.8 lens on the Sony Nex-7. When it first comes out of sleep mode it seems to be in some super wide-open or over-exposure mode before settling down to a reasonable exposure based on the fixed shutter speed of 1/320th I was shooting at. This happens frequently when I go for a grab shot in the street after the camera’s gone to sleep. Here’s what I was able to recover from the file. Has an interesting hi-key effect with the bright orange shirt. There’s another of these coming up a couple of posts from now, I think.
