
The NHS sent me for an annual blood test at the local hospital. Outside I found this sculpture surrounding a mirrored globe in the car park. I’m not sure what it’s about but I had to see what it would look like in a photograph.



I couldn’t find any placards to identify these, the top image is a set of glass globes from their students; the bottom one is a close-up of a metal sculpture in the gardens.
(These pictures were shot over a week ago – everything’s shut now and we’re complying with attempts to halt the spread of Covid-19 by not going out except for necessities).

There’s an art installation at Madison Green now, with all the works encased in clear domes (Paula Hayes, Gazing Globes), like the one where Superman kept the tiny, shrunken city from his home planet Krypton in his northerly Fortress of Solitude. I framed it so the Empire State Building lighting up the night sky would pierce the dome.
