Court Sq Trees and Benches

Another repeating theme. I’m trying to capture the strong contrast of the dark benches and the white tree bark, the opposing diagonals. But somehow the bare branches always make the image too busy and distract from the bold shapes and I can’t ever decide if it looks better in monochromatic color or simple black and white.

Mystical Light Play

Between Hunter St and Jackson Ave, Long Island City

No matter how many times I photograph this scene, I keep seeing new plays of light, new angles, new framing. Maybe one day I’ll get it right (or publish a big book of very similar images).
