Black Sky

A serene view of the ocean under a dark sky, with a shimmering golden reflection on the water's surface.
English Channel, Brighton

The sky was deeply coloured, but by setting my exposure for the sunlight reflection on the sea, the sensor struggled with the dynamic range, leading to this black sky. In fact, it’s possible to bring up the exposure a couple of stops in software to get a deep midnight blue, but I prefer this stark contrast.

Future Skate-park

Study in abstract blacks and grays at this brand new skate park near the river that seems to be open even as builders continue working around it. The neighboring playground was modelled in chrome yellows and brown. Click on any of the pictures to enlarge them (you may need to click the post title above first if you’re seeing this in email).

West 24th Street, New York

Minutes ago we learned that fractionally more people disapproved of President Trump than approved of him and Joe Biden will be our next President. Here in New York the celebratory noises in the street can still be heard, bull horns, car horns, pot-banging, shouting and screaming. At first I couldn’t tell what was going on.

Anyway… Yesterday we went on a Chelsea art gallery crawl, so you have that experience to look forward to over the next week’s posts.
