King Henry’s Mound

We also made it to King Henry’s Mound from where you can see all the way to Windsor Castle in one direction and 10 miles to St Paul’s Cathedral (see pictures below).

Deer in Richmond Park

Richmond Park is a Royal Park, famous for its deer and we were lucky enough to see some during our visit.

Richmond Park Trees

After Wimbledon Common we passed into Richmond Park where we saw some magnificent trees, some dead, some fallen (see below).

Word

I’ve photographed this scene from the train window many times before, hoping to use it for my Word project. This time the train slowed to a stop in the perfect spot but I only had my phone with me.

On our way back from Hampstead Heath to the Belsize Park tube station we visited the Lawn Road Flats, home, at various times, to such luminaries as Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer, László Moholy-Nagy, Agatha Christie and various NKVD spies and recruiters. It’s famous ISOBar played host, additionally, to Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson and Julian Huxley among many others.
